Old Masters’ Oil Techniques with Heinie Hartwig of Soulsbyville 

Learn to paint the way the old masters from 1860 to 1900 painted—detailed, yet fast and loose. Bring oil supplies, including t-shirt rags, paper towels, turp pot, and rounded-tip palette knife. Get the list of Heinie’s oil colors at the desk. Cost is $75 a lesson. As there is usually a waiting list for Heinie’s classes, no-shows will be charged the full amount of the lesson.

Paint Your Pet with Susie #83 Monday, May 8 • 1 pm to 4 pm 
Marquis 

A Paint-Your-Pet on Monday this week! Whose pet will we paint? It’s Jan’s Marquis! Learn the basics of drawing, mixing paint, and general procedures for handling oil paint. For this class, please bring a 9x12 or 12x16 canvas and your usual oil supplies. Cost of class is $25, or $45 if all supplies are furnished (including 9x12 canvas) for your use that day. Cost of prepared canvas only is $5. If you request supplies, there is a $25 non-refundable deposit at registration. Don’t forget to wear your paint clothes! Please let us know ahead of time if you will need supplies.

Open Paint Thursdays ~~~ Acrylics Thursday, May 11 • 1 pm to 4 pm 
Fun with Tints 

A mix of any color with white makes a tint. Paint a field of wildflowers using tints. Bring your acrylic supplies. Handouts available. Cost of Open Thursday is $5. Please sign up in advance.

Yupo Cow

Garden House 

Learn how one artist uses isopropyl alcohol to fix his drawing and then underpaints his pastel painting with watercolors. Handouts available—no instruction. Bring your own supplies. Susie has 11x15-sanded Mi-Tientes paper (in black or white) and sheets of U-Art sanded paper in 400 and 320 grades for purchase. There is a $5 studio fee for Open Paint Days. Beginning Watercolor with Susie First Mondays Monday, June 5 • 1 to 4 pm

Bring your usual watercolor supplies, including a pencil, eraser, and 9x12 or 11x15 piece of Arches 140 lb. Cold Press Paper, watercolor card, paper towels, masking fluid, pickup, old brush, and removable tape. Cost of class is $25, or ($40 if everything, including paper, is supplied).
